Family Fitness and Running Club

Take all of that after-school energy and MOVE! Join our Fitness & Running Club for kids, teens, and even their guardians! Join Ms. Akilah for warm-ups, running, and a kid-friendly work out. Water is provided by the Friends of the Library. Please wear comfortable clothing and appropriate shoes. Guardian must be present at the time of the class to sign an exercise waiver.

Toddler Movement Class

“Build a Better World” by growing readers at the Library! Active walkers up to pre-K ready children and their caregivers are invited to join us for Shaky Egg dancing and singing as we move our way through active storytelling. Get moving and reading with us! This class is specifically designed for the interactive reader with their caregiver actively participating and for families with multiple children including babies. Please Note: For the safety of all children attending and the enjoyment of everyone, latecomers will be asked to come to the second session or to come the following week.

Love 2 Run 5K

Cathedral Parish School will be hosting their third annual Love 2 Run 5K on May 6,2017. Race start time is 8:00 am. The US Track and Field certified course will take runners past the Fort, along the beautiful Bayfront, up the cobblestone street of St. George Street, finishing with a celebration at Francis Field. The picturesque route through St. Augustine will be enjoyed by all. This is a great race not to be missed so register today!

Just Tri It! Kids Triathlon

Join us for the 2017 Kids Triathlon on April 23, at 8 a.m. at the Solomon Calhoun Center! Children ages 5-14 can join in the fun and JUST TRI IT! This is a non-competitive event giving everyone the chance to participate in a Triathlon. The first 150 children to pick up their race packets will get a Just Tri It! t-shirt and every child that completes the race will get a medal for their accomplishment!

All children currently enrolled in kindergarten through 8th grade are welcome to participate in our non-competitive triathlon. All athletes will race in the appropriate division based on their ages on race day.

Proof of Swimming Proficiency: With each athlete registration, you must include one of the following as proof that your child is a proficient swimmer. No child who must be assisted during the swimming portion of the race will be allowed to complete the triathlon. Each athlete will be contacted to confirm swim information.

There will be a Tot Trot – a 100 yard dash for children ages 5 and under. Register at the Kids Triathlon table, Solomon Calhoun Center, Saturday April 22, 11-3 p.m. and Sunday the 23, 7-8 a.m. The Tot Trot race begins when the final Triathlon participant crosses the finish line and will be held on the football field next to the finish line. This event is free and all Trotters will receive a participation ribbon and t-shirt!
