Can you believe it?
School’s almost out for summer!
In St. Johns County, that final dismissal bell will ring at 1:50 PM on May 24. Our kids will pour out the school doors, ready for the long weeks of whatever June, July and August have to offer.
But before they say their goodbyes, here are a few ways to thank those teachers who have guided them through the past year.
Made With Love.
Homemade cards and gifts are always in vogue. Something heartfelt and made with love does double duty as something fun for kids to create and something teachers truly appreciate.
Day At The Beach.
A beach tote loaded with goodies is a wonderful gift from an individual family, or combined as a class effort. Totes can be as simple as a fun towel and cute flip flops, but can also be a larger group gift with sunglasses, sunscreen, a good book, and even a reusable cup. Your teacher will have everything she needs to enjoy a day poolside or chilling on the sand.
Time For Some Pampering.
Don’t overlook the benefits of a good manicure. Fill a goodie bag with some brightly colored nail polish, emery boards, lotion and other tools so your teacher can treat her hands right.
Some of the hot colors for summer include peach, coral, metallic gold and blush. Try purples and turquoises for a splash of something more daring.
Fun for the Whole Family.
If your teacher has children of her own, chances are she’ll be looking for ways to entertain the family over the summer months. Help her out with gift cards and suggestions for things to do around town. Try a gift card to the movies or some Redbox codes, presented with popcorn and movie candy. You can also offer gift cards to the Alligator Farm, St. Augustine Aquarium or Adventure Landing. She’ll love having some ideas to keep her kids happy!
At the end of the day, everyone loves the simplicity and flexibility of gift cards. The ability to splurge on a little something from her favorite coffee shop, gift store, restaurant or boutique is something a gift in an of itself. No matter what you choose, she’s sure to be able to shop for something she loves!
