Enjoy the Summer Sunshine

St. Augustine Moms Blog Park Hops

Join us for our FREE Summer Park Hop series. This year we will have three park hops around St. Augustine. Check out the full schedule here and head up to the Jacksonville Park Hops, too!

Head to the Beach!

Pack that over-sized bag of yours filled with beach toys, snacks, waters, and sunscreen and enjoy your time in the sun and sand. Here is the map of beach access points and pavilions. 

St. Augustine Pier Splash Park

Let the kids cool off for FREE without getting all sandy. Or walk down to the beach then shower off and hit Rita’s Italien Ice! Check out the details here.

St. Augustine Pier

Watch some fish get reeled in while taking in the views from up above the crashing waves. The sightseeing fee is only $1 but you can also pay a small fee to fish. Find out more here

Solomon Calhoun Community Center & Pool

Check this out if you prefer to cool off in the pool or are looking for some place new to explore. Find out more here

City Parks

Some of our favorites are the Davenport Park where you can ride on a carousel for $1 or Project SWING which has the biggest playground in St. Augustine. Here is the list!

St. Johns County Parks

We are definitely not lacking parks around here and we LOVE that! Be sure to check out Treaty Park where you will find a skate park, a duck pond, dog park, and multiple sports fields and courts. If you love nature trails then Vail Point Park might be your new favorite spot. Enjoy a quiet moment on the dock if you get a chance. You can find more about these parks and others here

State Parks

Our favorites include Anastasia State Park and Washington Oaks Gardens State Park.

Music By the Sea

Enjoy this free concert series every Wednesday from May 24th – Sept. 13th at 7-9 pm. Different bands will play each week and food from different local restaurants will be available for purchase each week. You can access the concert schedule here

Movies By the Bay

Ripley’s and Colonial Quarter are bringing us movies by the bay every Wednesday at 8:30 pm from June 7th through August 9 at the Colonial Oak Music Park.

Concerts In the Plaza

Free concerts every Thursday in the Plaza de la Constitucion at 7 pm from June 1st to August 31st.  Here is the schedule!

First Friday Art Walk

From 5-9 pm on the first Friday of every month, you can walk along the gorgeous streets of downtown while visiting galleries and art exhibits. Take advantage of the free art walk shuttle services as well! Find out more here. 

Rype and Readi

The new location is downtown and it is amazing! Buy fresh produce and local goodies or just stop by for a visit throughout the week and say hello to some of the friendliest farm animals you will ever meet. 

Farmers Markets

There are multiple farmers markets around town where you can do some shopping while supports locals. Check out our events calendar to find one near you!


Try having a picnic at the fort and hear the canons. It doesn’t cost money to walk around the lawn of the fort and this is where you can find some of the best views of our city and the bay. Pack a picnic and let the kids run around the grass. If you want to explore inside of the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument you can! Children age 15 and under get in for free but must be accompanied by an adult.


Beat the Heat

Public Library

The wonderful St. Johns County Public Libraries have an abundance of free events for families and children of all ages! Here you will find all of the fun things that are offered like story times, art classes, playgroups, and yoga.

Barnes and Noble Storytime

Every Saturday at 11 am you and your little ones can enjoy storytime at our local Barnes and Noble while sipping on a cup of coffee in the AC. Pick up a book for yourself while you are there and try eliminating some of your screen time this summer. You can find the storytime events listed here

Home Depot Kid Workshops

Did you know that your child can put their hands to work while they learn at Home Depot on Saturday mornings? Every Saturday from 9 am to 12 they can for free! 

Lowe’s Build and Grow Clinic

Every Saturday at 10 am your kids can learn something new and be involved in a fun activity for free. Let’s be real- you probably need to go there anyways for that new home improvement project you’ve been wanting to start. 

Michaels Kids’ Club

Who doesn’t love arts and crafts? Kids’ Club classes are only $2 per child and they are offered every Saturday from 10am to 12pm. Here is the schedule of classes. 


Kids can bowl for free all summer long at the Anastasia Bowling Lanes. Find out more information here.


Bonus: For the Adults

San Sebastian Winery Tour & Tasting

Tour our local winery for free and have fun tasting samples along the way. After you are finished with the 45-minute tour you can head upstairs check out The Celler Upstairs Wine and Jazz & Blues Bar; the view is beautiful from up there. St. Augustine Distillery Tours

Have you been to the St. Augustine Distillery yet or the Ice Plant Bar that is located upstairs? You can tour the distillery for free Monday through Sunday from 10:30 am to 5 pm. Even if you can’t stay to enjoy a drink or any food upstairs, you should stop inside to check it out. You will feel as if you have gone back in time.
