Summer heat got you down? No worries, there’s plenty to do indoors in St. Augustine with the kids this summer!
The library is one of our favorite places to spend time indoors. Our library system has some great activities to offer this summer. Some branches have lego club, kids yoga, weekly story times, and more! The library sponsors a weekly event in June where they will host a reptile experience, magician, then the Jacksonville Zoo. We have been the last couple of years, and had fun seeing the animals! The event is held at Switzerland Community Church (near the Bartram Trail Library) starting June 16. Check the calendar for dates and times of all events here.
Anastasia Bowling Lanes
The kids had a blast the last time we went bowling. We had fun dancing to the top 40 hits that play as you await your turn to bowl. Best of all, kids can bowl for FREE all summer thanks to a special program. Register your kids here for 2 free games a day all summer!
Kids Yoga at Dancing Warrior Yoga
Bring the kids on Tuesday’s this summer to The Dancing Warrior Yoga Studio for kids yoga! Kids will learn fun yoga postures as well as mindfulness and basic breathing techniques. Parents are more than welcome to drop the kids off or stay and watch–or even participate. I did this last summer with the kids and loved it. The owner of the studio is also a local St. Augustine mom!
Barnes & Noble St. Augustine
Who doesn’t love grabbing a coffee and browsing through books while the kids play with the train table at Barnes & Noble? They also have story time on Saturdays. Find the story time info. here
See a Movie
We pretty much retire from outdoor playgrounds at a certain point in the summer when the heat and mosquitoes start to take over. This is the perfect place to let the kids burn off some energy during a hot/rainy day.
Spend an afternoon playing arcade games with the kids! Check the Adventure Landing website for specials.
Visit the Pirate & Treasure Museum
Children under 5 are free and St. Johns county residents get a discounted pass. Discounted adult tickets are $9.99 and kids over 5 are $4.99 This is one place I haven’t been, but I can’t wait to take the kids this summer! Check out more photos and info. on their website here.
