Cool Off This Summer with Mom {and Kid} Approved Homemade Popsicles

If your family is anything like my family summertime means popsicle galore. I cringe at the thought of little plastic popsicle bags all over my yard, and the top clippings sitting on my counter or in my sink. This year I decided to try my own homemade popsicles for summertime treats. They have been fun to make, and the variety of choices have been yummy. We even used fun ring pop shaped popsicle molds! Check out our favorite recipes!

Yogurt Popsicles

This recipe was one of the easiest ones we had and it was so great to be able to use what I already had on hand.

What you need: Popsicle molds, any yogurt brand you have in your refrigerator, fruit {in our case, we found some that needed to use up} and a little sweetener. If you had flavored yogurt you could probably get away without adding any.

Instructions: Mix your ingredients together, pour into your molds and freeze overnight.

Verdict: The only thing I noticed with these popsicles were how quickly they melted. Make sure you have paper towels handy! Or try another handy trick: cut a slit in the bottom of a silicone baking cup and slide the stick in.

No Drip Jello Popsicles

What you need: Your popsicle molds, 1 cup boiling water, 1 cup cold water, and 1 small package of your favorite jello flavor.

Instructions: Add the boiling water to the jello mix and stir together. Next, mix in the cold water. Then, pour the jello mixture into your popsicle molds. Freeze overnight and enjoy!

Verdict: The kids LOVED these ones and they certainly had a slower melting timeframe than the yogurt popsicles.

Mom Mimosa Popsicles (Adults Only)

Combine 2 parts orange juice to 1 part champagne. Freeze overnight and enjoy. I can proudly state that this mom right here, approved these mimosa popsicles! Whoever said you can’t have a popsicle for breakfast was wrong.
